FREE Youth Activities

Youth Program – Jimmy Gabettas, Cal Johnson & Jordan Woolley.

All youth activities are FREE and no pre-registration is required, just show up!

The youth education area will be in its traditional location to left of the expo registration desk in the foyer of the convention center. This year we have more room and have added new activities in addition to our “Tie Your First Fly Table” and casting classes. The youth activities will run From 8:00 am to 6:00 on Friday the 16th and 8:00 to 4:00 on Saturday the 17st.

FLY TYING

Youth and adult tying instructors will be on hand to help young tyers tie their first fly and also learn the essential knots to make the day on the water more fun.

FLY CASTING

Fly casting instruction will be available both days with classes at both 10:30 am and again at 1:30 pm. Prior sign-up is not necessary. Just meet in the foyer 10 minutes before each casting time. Feel free to bring your own rod and there will also be rods available to use.

ENTOMOLOGY

This year we are offering an entomology class on both mornings at 9 am. The class assignment will be to stock the aquarium located in the youth area. Class size is limited and call (208) 524-7160 to signup. Attendees must be accompanied by an adult.
